President Kibaki of Kenya launches Televic Education project (30-04-2010)

Nairobi - Speaking at the first e-learning regional conference at Kenya Institute of Education (KIE), President Kibaki said the Kenyan Government has undertaken the implementation of an interactive ICT platform that will enhance teaching in collaboration with Televic from Belgium.

Already, 240 education institutions countrywide have been identified for the programme, which will provide computer-based online and offline teaching in schools,” said Kibaki. The theme for e-learning is transforming education as a whole. It draws participants from teachers, ICT and educations stakeholders and enhances quality, access and equity in the education sector.

Dirk Verbeke, Business Development Manager at Televic said 'The programme also ensures digital content and teacher professional development with Edumatic, public private partnership and pedagogical aspects of ICT integration in education with AVIDAnet.
