KTV Kennisnet offers language, interpreting and translation tests, which allow candidates to enter the (Dutch) Register of sworn interpreters and translators.
The organisation uses translationQ, Televic Education’s advanced online revision platform, for administering translation tests. The tests are organised in large exam centres, and the candidates bring their own laptop. KTV Kennisnet works with test commissions which consist of external revisors (who are native speakers of the target languages translated into).
“Both for the candidates as well as for the revisors, working with translationQ has been a very positive experience”, says Sandra Florindo, co-owner of KTV Kennisnet, and a sworn translator herself. “The interface is very well-organised, allowing everyone to get to work quickly. Furthermore, the revisors made great use of the extensive scoring possibilities to mark the translations as correct and objectively as possible. Moreover, the application helps to not overlook any mistakes, and every translation is being corrected using the exact same criteria. Finally, we can allow both revisors as well as translators to work anonymously in the platform, in order to preclude any form of subjectivity.”
As a customer, we also feel very involved in the further development of translationQ, because we share our experiences in the field with Televic Education, and they take this into account in their product road map.
Besides the application itself, KTV Kennisnet is also very satisfied with the Televic Education Support. “Working with an online revision application was unknown territory for us. But thanks to the good monitoring of the Televic support team, initial small problems were resolved very quickly. As a customer, we also feel very involved in the further development of translationQ, because we share our experiences in the field with Televic Education, and they take this into account in their product road map”, Sandra Florindo continues.
“The result is that we are now able to process revisions and results much quicker, and that we can fall back on the data in the platform, because every indicated mistake and every altered score is being tracked in the platform by a revisor.”
